Academic Excellence 

St. John’s Lutheran School students take the Iowa Basic Test every spring to determine academic achievement.  This test measures proficiency in all subject areas.  Our students typically test in the top 25 % nationally.   Our current group of 8^th grade students tested in the top 15%.   Currently, 90% of our students in grades 6-8 have qualified for the Junior National Honor Society.  To qualify, students need to carry a minimum of a B + average.  The National Honor Society also requires students to be service-minded in the community and to be leaders in the school.  St. John’s graduates represent some of the best students in our local area high schools; they tend to be leaders and live their faith in Jesus Christ.
